Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS),  introduced  a common entrance examination for initial short listing of candidates for selection into clerical and entry level officer cadre and specialist officers in various nationalised banks in the country.
The IBPS will conduct the exam twice a year for each cadre.
The banks, which will participate in the common entrance examination system, include
  1. Allahabad Bank, 
  2. Andhra Bank,
  3. Bank of Baroda, 
  4. Bank of India, 
  5. Bank of Maharashtra, 
  6. Canara Bank, 
  7. Central Bank of India,
  8. Corporation Bank,
  9. Dena Bank, 
  10. India Bank, 
  11. India Overseas Bank,
  12. Oriental Bank of Commerce,
  13. Punjab National Bank,
  14. Punjab and Sind Bank,
  15. Syndicate Bank, 
  16. Union Bank of India, 
  17. United Bank of India,
  18. UCO Bank
  19. Vijaya Bank.
  •  A valid score card issued by the IBPS will be a pre-requisite for candidates to apply for clerical cadre, entry level officer cadre and specialists officers in the participating banks.
  • The IBPS will issue notifications to conduct the common examination and will also hold pre-recruitment training to SC and ST applicants at its various centres.
